Casual Panache, Inc. to award large scholarship to driven student
A small business turned international empire is looking to give back to the community and encourage young women who show entrepreneurial promise.
Along the lines of a popular TV show, Casual Panache, Inc.’s “Tadpole Tank” is looking for youth to enter in an upcoming competition in which the winner can receive an educational scholarship of up to $1,500! And in the “Tadpole Tank,” every contestant will walk away with a monetary winning of some size for their education!
The owner of the Menomonie, Wis.-based business, Kim Nimsgern, is dedicated to empowering young minds and fostering the growth of future business leaders. Nimsgern is quick to share that her success did not come without the help of the community throughout western Wisconsin and beyond. It was students who even designed the first prototype, the packaging and other key elements of her invention, the Click n Curl; she said this was her motivation for the contest.
“I couldn’t be where I am today without the support of others,” Nimsgern said. “Because of this, I want to find those ‘little business leaders!’ Did a student make and sell hair bows to raise money to go on a mission trip? Grow a pumpkin patch and use the earnings to buy something they wanted? Sell cookies in a unique way? I want to tell students, ‘Your ideas are awesome! Your drive will take you far. You are an innovator. You can make it. And I want to help you.’”
To enter the “Tadpole Tank,” students share their stories on tadpoletank.com. Once the contestants are chosen, Casual Panache, Inc. will publish these stories on the company website and social media with the winner chosen based on voting from the general public. But this is a competition in which everyone wins! For each Styl Styk purchased in the name of a contestant, that contestant will receive $1 of the proceeds to go toward their education automatically.
###
Contest rules:
Project begins and opens for contestant applications February 1, 2017. Voting begins June 1, 2017 and runs through August 26, 2017. Educational scholarship awarded September 2017. Contests must be under 18 years of age at the time of entry. Students can enter themselves into the competition, and parents/guardians and other adults can nominate youth. Total amount of scholarship based on the number of Styl Styk sales generated during competition, up to $1,500. Winner chosen based on voting by the general public. One vote per web visitor per student. In the event of a tie, a panel of entrepreneurs will review. In addition to the main competition, whenever a customer purchases a Styl Styk, the customer chooses which student will receive $1 of that sale to go toward the student’s education automatically. The remaining proceeds from that sale will be added to the grand prize educational scholarship “pot.”
